Scripture Belongs in Daily Life
Feb 27, 2025
“Bind them upon thy fingers, write them upon the table of thine heart.”
— Proverbs 7:3 KJV
What If You Couldn’t Open a Bible Tomorrow?
Imagine waking up tomorrow morning and discovering that every Bible had disappeared. No pages to turn. No verses to read. No written Word before your eyes.
Would you still know the truth?
Would you remember His promises?
Would His Word still be living in your heart?
The answer to that question is not prepared tomorrow. It is prepared today.
A World Starving for Truth
We live in a time where lies speak loudly and truth is often pushed aside. Distractions pull the mind away from what endures, and the noise of the world constantly seeks to occupy the place of the Word.
But Scripture was not given to be neglected. It is living and powerful.
“For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”
Hebrews 4:12 — KJV
It instructs. It corrects. It endures. It is not an addition to the Christian life, but its foundation.
Scripture Is Not Made for the Shelf
The Word of God is not meant to remain closed, untouched, and forgotten on a shelf. It is to be read, kept, meditated upon, and lived.
“Is not my word like as a fire? saith the LORD; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces?”
Jeremiah 23:29 — KJV
“And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:”
Ephesians 6:17 — KJV
How often do we set it aside?
How often do other voices speak louder in our lives?
Scripture calls us back to order. Not for appearance, but for obedience.
Keeping the Word Close
How does Scripture remain at the center of daily life?
Read it, not occasionally, but with perseverance.
Proclaim it, with truth, with grace, with discernment.
Keep it, written upon the heart, even when circumstances change.
Live it, in conduct, in decisions, and in the moments no one sees.
The Word is not carried by objects.
It is carried in the life of the believer.
Open the Word.
Read it.
Learn it.
Walk according to it.
“Bind them upon thy fingers, write them upon the table of thine heart.”
Proverbs 7:3 — KJV
Do not let it fall into forgetfulness.
Let it be known in the way you live.
